Police Plan Four New Stations in Each Hyderabad Commissionerate
Police officials want to add four stations in each of four Hyderabad-area commissionerates.
These are Hyderabad, Cyberabad, Malkajgiri and Future City.
The plan is needed because the city has grown and police boundaries have changed.
Some police zones cover very large areas, making patrols more difficult.
Officials also said some zones have many stations while others have fewer.
The police will redraw boundaries using population, crime rates and local administrative divisions.
Some stations may be renamed, split or created in places such as Moinabad, Kondapur and Badangpet.
The state government is expected to issue the final orders soon.
Four police stations are planned in each of Hyderabad, Cyberabad, Malkajgiri and Future City commissionerates.
The restructuring follows the creation of the Future City commissionerate and changes to zones and boundaries.
Boundaries will be redrawn according to crime rates, population, municipalities, revenue divisions and courts.
Officials cited uneven station distribution and large jurisdictions as obstacles to patrolling and event security.
Proposed changes include stations or jurisdictional adjustments in Moinabad, Kondapur, Badangpet, Moulali and other areas.
