Supreme Court Issues Notice On Paper Leak Property Confiscation PIL
Every year, millions of students in India take big tests to get into school or get jobs.
Sometimes, the answer sheets leak before the test, which is very unfair.
That is called a paper leak.
A man named Ashwini Kumar Upadhyay asked the Supreme Court to help stop this.
He is a leader in a political party called the BJP.
He wants the government to take away the houses and money of people who leak tests.
He believes that will scare people from doing it again.
The Supreme Court, which is the highest court in India, listened to him.
The court asked the government and the states to give their answers.
Now everyone is waiting to see what the court will decide.
The Supreme Court issued notice to the Central government and States on a PIL seeking stronger action against paper leak offenders.

The petition argues repeated paper leaks violate students' fundamental rights under Articles 14, 16, 19 and 21 of the Constitution.
Upadhyay withdrew a demand for a Standard Questionnaire and Special Investigation Procedure after a 2026 law introduced time-bound investigations, while alternatively seeking a Law Commission report on international practices.
