Sports Governance Bill May Change BCCI Leadership, Term Limits
A new sports bill is coming that will change how sports in India are run.
It sets rules for how long people can be leaders and wants more athletes to have a say.
The bill could affect the head of the cricket board, Roger Binny, because of his age.
The government will create a new board to watch over sports organizations and make sure they follow the rules.
This bill aims to make sports management better and fairer.
The National Sports Governance Bill 2025 proposes changes to term limits for sports officials and athlete representation.
The Bill allows officials aged 70-75 to contest elections if international bodies permit it.
The BCCI, like other sports bodies, will be subject to the Bill, impacting its governance.
The Bill could affect BCCI President Roger Binny's future due to age restrictions.
The proposed National Sports Board (NSB) will have significant powers, including granting and suspending recognition.
