Lahore Court Grants Protective Bail to Noreen Niazi
A court in Lahore gave Noreen Niazi a short period of protection so she couldn’t be taken into custody while she deals with a cybercrime case.
The case was started by a police agency that said she said bad things about the army.
She talked about a fight with India and said the army was not strong.
The court said the police could not arrest her for a week and told her to go to another court soon.
The police said she tried to scare people and spread lies about the state.
The judge gave her a chance to explain herself before any punishment.
Lahore High Court granted Noreen Niazi one‑week protective bail in a cybercrime case over alleged remarks about Pakistan’s armed forces.
The case was filed by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, accusing her of spreading false, provocative content.
Niazi’s comments linked the 2025 India‑Pakistan conflict to alleged collusion between Pakistan’s military and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and suggested India avoided escalation to aid Pakistan’s potential Israel ties.
The court restrained the NCCIA from arresting her during the bail period and directed her to seek further relief within a week.
The FIR claims Niazi “attempted to undermine public confidence in the state and create panic among the people” and “conducted a systematic propaganda campaign against state and security institutions.”
