Congress Has Not Decided on Joining Omar Abdullah Government

Congress is deciding whether to become part of Omar Abdullah’s government in Jammu and Kashmir.

The National Conference reportedly asked Congress to join the Council of Ministers.

Congress said no final decision has been made.

Local Congress leaders reportedly want two ministerial positions.

They also want a committee so alliance partners can help make government decisions.

Congress may negotiate about the second position.

Omar Abdullah has said changes to the ministers will happen after August 15 at an appropriate time.

Congress, the CPI(M), and two independent legislators currently support the government.
