Visakhapatnam Police Crack Down on Drugs
In 2025, the Visakhapatnam Range Police did a big operation to stop drugs.
They arrested many people and seized a lot of ganja.
They also broke up drug networks that were working across different states and districts.
The police used drones to find illegal ganja plants and destroyed them.
They also helped farmers grow legal crops instead of ganja.
This way, they are making the area safer and helping people find better jobs.
They even trained people in different kinds of farming and small businesses.
The police also sent some people who use drugs to places where they can get help.
All these efforts are making the community a better place to live.
Visakhapatnam Range Police arrested 1,390 persons and seized 28,423 kg of ganja during an anti-narcotics drive from January to October 2025.
The police dismantled 69 drug networks, including 25 inter-state and 44 inter-district networks, leading to 315 arrests across Andhra Pradesh and neighboring states.
Under the ASR district scheme, 34,012 farmers cultivated legal crops across 35,011.5 acres, while 10 acres of illegal ganja cultivation were identified and destroyed.
The police provided training in horticulture, aquaculture, poultry farming, and small-scale industries to create sustainable livelihoods for communities.
