India's exports to US surge despite tariffs
India's exports to the US grew by 29% in November 2025, even though the US put extra taxes on some Indian products.
This growth was mainly because of more smartphones, petroleum products, and medicines being sent to the US.
Some products like pearls and marine products saw a big drop because they are more affected by the extra taxes.
Experts say that while the taxes can hurt, they are not the only thing that decides how much countries trade with each other.
India's total exports to the US rose 29% year-on-year in November 2025 despite additional tariffs.
Telecom instruments, including smartphones, saw a 211% increase in exports to the US.
Petroleum products exports grew by 207.5% year-on-year in November 2025.
Pharmaceuticals exports increased by 17% year-on-year in November 2025.
Labour-intensive sectors like gems and jewellery, and marine products saw significant declines due to tariffs.
