Minister backs RSS chief Bhagwat's outreach to Gen Z
Some news from India: a leader named Dilip Ghosh, who works for the government in West Bengal, said nice things about another leader named Mohan Bhagwat.
Mr. Bhagwat leads a big Hindu organization called the RSS.
Mr. Ghosh said Mr. Bhagwat acts like a guardian, friend, and guide for Hindu people.
He thinks young people can be tricked by social media and by people who do not like their country, so they need help and guidance.
Mr. Bhagwat recently spoke to about 2,000 young people in Mumbai, India.
He said protesting is okay in a democracy, but protests should join people together, not split them apart.
His speech came after young people protested about exam paper leaks.
Mr. Bhagwat also said the country should spend more money on schools, about 6 percent of everything India earns.
So this story is about grown-up leaders talking about how to help and guide young people.
West Bengal cabinet minister Dilip Ghosh backed RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat's outreach to Gen Z and Gen Alpha, calling it a 'positive development'.
Ghosh described Bhagwat as the 'guardian, friend, philosopher and guide' of Hindu society.
Ghosh said younger generations need counselling so they are not misled by social media and 'foreign agents' into taking anti-national positions.
Bhagwat told about 2,000 Gen Z and Gen Alpha members at IIMUN's 15th anniversary event in Mumbai that protest is legitimate democratic dialogue aimed at building consensus.
Bhagwat called concerns over India's education system genuine and advocated raising education spending to 6 percent of the country's GDP.
