Turkey Detains Officials in Istanbul Corruption Probe
Imagine the government is looking into some things going on in Istanbul's city hall, where the mayor works.
They've arrested more people related to the city government.
Those arrested include some important people, like a former member of parliament.
The government says this is because of investigations into corruption.
The opposition party, however, believes this is being done for political reasons, not because of corruption.
Turkish authorities detained 30 people related to the Istanbul municipality.
Detainees include a former opposition MP and district mayors.
The detentions are part of four corruption investigations.
This is the fifth wave of legal action since March.
Opposition claims the arrests are politically motivated.
