Tollywood Meets Police Over Social Media Harassment
A group of people from the Bengali film industry, called Tollywood, met with the police to talk about a big problem they are facing.
Some people on social media like Facebook and Instagram are being mean to them and their families.
They are saying bad things and even threatening them.
The film industry people said this is not okay and asked the police to do something about it.
The police listened to them and said they will think about starting an investigation.
The problem happens a lot when new movies are about to come out, and fans of different actors sometimes fight online.
The film industry people want the police to help stop these mean and scary messages.
An 18-member delegation from Tollywood met with police commissioner Manoj Verma to report targeted harassment on social media.
The delegation included prominent actors, directors, producers, and technicians from the Bengali film industry.
They reported defamation, targeted attacks, and personal threats, including threats of murder and rape, on platforms like Facebook and Instagram.
