Kerala Weighs Vigilance Probe in CMRL-Exalogic Case

Kerala Weighs Vigilance Probe in CMRL-Exalogic Case

The Enforcement Directorate has asked Kerala authorities to investigate alleged corruption involving Pinarayi Vijayan and others.

The allegations relate to payments from CMRL to Exalogic Solutions, owned by T. Veena.

The Kerala government has not yet decided whether to register a formal police case.

It is first seeking legal advice from the Advocate General.

Officials may also conduct a preliminary Vigilance check of the evidence.

One important question is whether a statement given to the Enforcement Directorate can alone support a corruption case.

The Enforcement Directorate also relies on findings from the Interim Settlement Board.

The CPI(M) disputes the allegations and plans to fight them in court and politically.
