TTD Approves Rs 2.3 Lakh Jewellery Loss Write‑Off
The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams Trust Board decided to record a loss of about 2.3 lakh rupees in the value of jewellery used in temples.
This loss happened because the ornaments are worn every day during prayers and festivals, which naturally makes them lighter or less valuable.
The biggest loss came from the Tirumala temple, where the value dropped by 1.51 lakh rupees.
Every year, a team of experts checks all the jewellery in the 81 temples to see how much it is worth.
The Trust Board now keeps all this information in a digital system called the Thiruvabharanam Management System, so everything is recorded and transparent.
TTD Trust Board approved a Rs 2.3 lakh write‑off for 2024‑25 temple jewellery loss.
Loss reflects normal wear and tear from daily rituals and festivals across 81 temples.
Tirumala temple contributed Rs 1.51 lakh, the largest share of the loss.
Annual verification involved registered valuers, State Audit, and pilgrim witnesses under TTD Rules.
TTD has digitised jewellery records using the Thiruvabharanam Management System.
