India Reports 84% Drop in Mother-to-Child HIV Transmission
In India, the number of babies getting HIV from their mothers has dropped a lot, about 84% since 2010!
This is really good news.
The government is working hard to stop HIV by teaching people about it using different ways like websites and posters.
They also help people who are at higher risk.
This includes people like sex workers and those who use drugs.
People in local communities are also helping to spread the word and teach others.
India saw an 84% decline in mother-to-child HIV transmission from 2010 to 2024.
The decline in India is higher than the global rate during the same period (74.5% vs 56.5%).
The Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Anupriya Patel, shared the data in Parliament.
