Bengal Colleges to Host IAS Officers for Student Classes
IAS officers in Bengal may soon visit colleges to teach students once or twice a month.
They will talk about their work and how they built their careers.
Minister Shankar Ghosh said this could encourage students from ordinary families.
He made the suggestion at Surya Sen Mahavidyalaya in Siliguri.
He asked the local SDO to teach as an IAS officer, not just as an administrator.
The minister also said officers would regularly meet students in colleges.
The college principal said more than 600 students found company placements this year.
Ghosh asked the college to work toward a higher NAAC grade.
He also said former students should help through alumni groups without interfering in college management.
