Nick Bosa to Miss Cardinals Game With Calf Injury
Nick Bosa is an important football player for the San Francisco 49ers.
He hurt his calf during practice on Thursday.
Because of the injury, he will not play against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.
The team may place him on injured reserve, which would keep him out for at least four games.
Bosa had just returned from a serious knee injury.
Several other 49ers defensive linemen are also hurt.
This leaves the team with fewer players who can rush the quarterback.
The 49ers must decide how to use their limited injured-reserve return spots.
Nick Bosa suffered a calf injury during Thursday’s practice and will miss San Francisco’s Week 3 game against Arizona.
The 49ers are considering placing Bosa on injured reserve, which would sideline him for at least four games.
Bosa recently returned from a torn right ACL and had played 70 defensive snaps over the first two games of 2026.
San Francisco’s defensive line is also missing several players, including CJ West, Sam Okuayinonu, Alfred Collins and James Thompson Jr.
The 49ers have only eight injured-reserve return designations, leaving them to balance Bosa’s status against other injuries.
