Oman's Deadline for Labour Status Rectification, New Certifications
In Oman, if you work there, the government is reminding everyone to fix their work status by July 31, 2025.
This means renewing work permits and visas without penalties.
You have to apply online through the Ministry's website before the deadline.
Also, starting August 1, 2025, engineers must have a special certificate to renew their work permits.
Soon after, starting September 1, 2025, similar rules will apply to important jobs in accounting and finance.
These new rules make sure workers have the right qualifications.
Oman's Ministry of Labour issued a final reminder for workers and employers regarding the grace period for legal status rectification.
The grace period, including labour card (visa) renewals without fines, ends on July 31, 2025.
Applications must be submitted by July 31, 2025, through the Ministry’s website and approved channels.
Starting August 1, 2025, engineers need a professional classification certificate for work permit renewal.
From September 1, 2025, similar certificates become mandatory for 20 accounting and finance roles.
