US Open Mixed Doubles Moves Earlier With Shorter Scoring

US Open Mixed Doubles Moves Earlier With Shorter Scoring

The US Open is changing how its mixed doubles tournament works.

The tournament will happen one week earlier than before.

Players will also face new qualification rules.

Matches will be shorter than usual.

Each set can end after four games, unless the score reaches 4-4.

At 4-4, the players will play a tiebreak.

When the score is tied at 40-40, the next point wins the game.

If each pair wins one set, a 10-point tiebreak decides the match instead of a full third set.
