Mamdani Moves into Gracie Mansion
Mayor Zohran Mamdani and his wife Rama Duwaji have moved into Gracie Mansion, the official mayoral residence in New York City.
This big, historic house is very different from their small apartment in Queens.
The mansion has lots of space, a private chef, and even a fireplace where Alexander Hamilton died.
Mayor Mamdani said he wants to open the mansion to more New Yorkers and might add bidets.
He also talked about how he will miss his old neighborhood in Queens, which is very diverse.
His new neighborhood is quieter and wealthier, but he hopes to appreciate it and thinks his neighbors will welcome him.

The mansion is a historic, 11,000 square feet home with features like a private chef, ornate ballroom, and a veranda overlooking the East River.
Mamdani previously lived in a small, leaky one-bedroom apartment in Queens.
The move was influenced by new security requirements and a desire to represent the city.
Mamdani plans to open the mansion to more New Yorkers and considers adding bidets to the bathrooms.
