RAF Teams Ready for Disaster Response
The Rapid Action Force (RAF), which is part of the CRPF, has 14 teams ready to help in case of disasters.
These teams have about 340 soldiers and come from seven battalions.
They wear blue uniforms and have been trained to handle different types of emergencies, including natural disasters, man-made disasters, and even chemical or nuclear attacks.
The government wants them to be ready to help because they are already present in many parts of the country.
A meeting was held to check their training and equipment.
The RAF was started in 1992 and is part of the biggest police force in the country.
14 RAF teams, with about 340 troops from seven battalions, are prepared for disaster response operations.
Teams are trained by NDMA and NDRF to handle natural, man-made disasters, and CBRN attacks.
Each team consists of 24 personnel, with 15 battalions in total, each having around 1,100 personnel.
A joint symposium was held to review the training and equipment of the RAF personnel.
The RAF was tasked with disaster response due to its widespread presence across the country.
