FCI Detects Spoiled Rice in CMR
The Food Corporation of India (FCI) found some problems with rice supplied by a miller in Undrajavaram.
The rice included Public Distribution System (PDS) rice, kernel-mixed rice, and spoiled rice.
The FCI rejected the rice and asked for an investigation.
The civil supplies department also took action by inspecting the mill and shifting the paddy stocks.
The government wants to provide good quality rice to people through the PDS, but there have been some issues with the supply.
The FCI and the civil supplies department are working to fix these problems.
FCI detected irregularities in rice consignments from a miller in Undrajavaram, including PDS rice, kernel-mixed rice, and spoiled rice.
The FCI rejected the four consignments and called for a thorough investigation and appropriate action.
The civil supplies department issued a show-cause notice and inspected the rice mill on December 28.
7,305 tonnes of paddy were sent to the rice mill from East Godavari, ASR, and Krishna districts.
The civil supplies corporation will not send paddy to the rice mill until the inquiry is completed.
