EC Expands Youth Electoral Literacy Outreach Ahead of 2029 Polls

India’s Election Commission wants young people to learn how elections work.

It is focusing on students in Classes 9 to 12, colleges and universities.

The programme is aimed at Gen Alpha and Gen Z. The EC plans to create 50,000 Electoral Literacy Clubs.

These clubs will be spread across 4,123 assembly constituencies.

Students will learn about democratic values and the voting process.

The updated programme will use digital tools and regular activities.

The effort is being organized ahead of the 2029 Lok Sabha elections.
