Lindsay Clancy Trial Nears Mistrial After Juror Dispute

Lindsay Clancy Trial Nears Mistrial After Juror Dispute

Lindsay Clancy is accused of killing her three children in Massachusetts in 2023.

She does not deny strangling them.

Her lawyers say a serious illness after childbirth, called postpartum psychosis, made her unable to understand that the killings were wrong.

Prosecutors say she knew what she was doing and planned to send her husband away first.

The jury has talked about the case for seven days but still cannot agree.

One juror was accused of misunderstanding the rule about reasonable doubt.

The judge questioned the jurors and reread the legal instructions but would not remove anyone.

If the jury remains stuck, the judge may declare a mistrial, and prosecutors could seek another trial.
