Mamata Banerjee urges EC to end Trinamool probe
Mamata Banerjee, the former chief minister of West Bengal, wrote a letter to the Election Commission.
She asked them to finish a probe into a fight inside her political party, the Trinamool Congress.
She said the other side had not answered the Commission’s questions and was using extra time to make up evidence.
Banerjee wants the investigation to end quickly and not give more time to the rival group.
She also mentioned earlier letters she sent on July 6, 2026.
Mamata Banerjee wrote to the Election Commission requesting the probe into the Trinamool dispute be concluded.
She demanded no further extensions for the rival faction led by Ritabrata Banerjee.
Banerjee cited repeated extensions and the rival camp’s lack of response.
She alleged the extensions were used to fabricate evidence against her party.
The letter referenced earlier submissions dated 6 July 2026.
