West Indies Squad for New Zealand ODI Series Announced, Campbell Recalled
The West Indies cricket team has picked its players for an upcoming series of one-day games against New Zealand.
A player named John Campbell, who is a batter, is back on the team for this type of game after not playing in it for six years.
He got picked because he played very well in other recent games.
Two other players, Johann Layne and Shamar Springer, have been chosen for the one-day team for the first time.
Some players who usually play spin bowling or pace bowling are not in the squad, and some pace bowlers are also missing because they are hurt.
The team is starting with one-day games and will play test matches later.
This comes after the West Indies lost a recent series of shorter games called T20s.
West Indies announced a 15-member squad for a three-match ODI series against New Zealand.
Batter John Campbell earned an ODI recall after six years, impressing with strong red-ball performances and Super50 Cup runs.
Fast bowler Johann Layne and seam-bowling all-rounder Shamar Springer received their first ODI call-ups.
Spinners Akeal Hosein and Gudakesh Motie, along with several pace bowlers including Alzarri Joseph, are unavailable due to injury or selection decisions.
The ODI series begins on November 16 in Christchurch, following West Indies' 3-1 T20I series defeat.
