Delhi Bans Entry of Non-BS-VI Commercial Vehicles Starting November 1
Delhi has a rule to help make the air cleaner.
Starting on November 1, 2025, trucks and delivery vans that are older and pollute more, and are registered in other cities, will not be allowed to enter Delhi.
Only newer trucks that meet the BS-VI standards, or use clean fuels like natural gas (CNG/LNG), or are electric (EVs), will be permitted.
There's a special exception for trucks carrying important things like food and other necessities, which can still enter until the end of October 2026.
After that date, even these trucks must be the cleaner, newer kind.
This rule is designed to lower the pollution caused by so many vehicles coming into the city.
CAQM prohibits entry of non-BS-VI registered commercial vehicles from outside Delhi starting November 1, 2025.
The ban aims to reduce vehicular emissions and air pollution in the national capital.
Vehicles using CNG, LNG, EVs, or BS-VI compliant diesel engines are exempt from the ban.
Non-BS-VI compliant vehicles carrying essential commodities can enter Delhi until October 31, 2026.
Stakeholders have raised concerns about potential congestion and the supply of essential items due to the ban.
