Zepto Plans IPO After Private Fundraise, CEO Announces
Zepto is a quick‑commerce company that sells groceries and other items fast.
The boss, Aadit Palicha, told employees that the company will first get money from its current investors.
They plan to raise about ₹1,000 crore before they try to sell shares to the public.
The money will help Zepto grow and use less cash each month.
After that, the company will update its financial reports and then go public.
The plan to sell shares is still valid until November 2027, so Zepto can choose when to do it.
The company also decided to ask for a smaller amount of money than it originally wanted, hoping to get a better price when it finally goes public.
Zepto will raise ₹1,000 crore from existing investors before an IPO.
The pre‑IPO round is expected to close by end of August 2026 at a $4.2‑4.5 billion valuation.
The company’s draft red‑herring prospectus remains valid until November 2027, giving IPO flexibility.
Zepto has cut its planned IPO size to about half of the original ₹5,000 crore target.
The firm aims to improve financials and reduce cash burn before launching the public offering.
