Google DeepMind Unveils AI Tool for DNA Analysis
Google DeepMind has created a new AI tool called AlphaGenome.
This tool helps scientists understand our DNA and how changes in our genes can affect our bodies.
AlphaGenome can look at large pieces of DNA and make very detailed predictions about what those genes do.
It was trained using human and mouse DNA and did very well in tests compared to other tools.
Scientists hope AlphaGenome will help them understand how genes control different parts of our bodies and how changes in genes can cause diseases like cancer.
They also think it could help in creating new treatments for diseases by designing better DNA sequences.
Google DeepMind unveiled AlphaGenome, an AI tool for DNA analysis, on January 28, 2026.
AlphaGenome can analyze up to 1 Mb of DNA and make detailed predictions down to a single DNA letter.
The tool was trained on human and mouse genomes and performed well in evaluations.
AlphaGenome aims to help scientists understand gene regulation and its impact on diseases like cancer.
Researchers hope the tool will accelerate the understanding of the genetic code and support new gene therapies.
