Telangana BJP chief seeks probe into Rs 500-crore paddy diversion
In the Indian state of Telangana, an important politician named N Ramchander Rao is worried about rice.

The government sends the paddy to special factories called rice mills to be cleaned and turned into milled rice.
But the leader says a huge amount of paddy — worth about 500 crore rupees — has disappeared.
That is a very, very large amount of money.
About 90,000 tonnes of rice seem to have gone missing.
The politician wrote a letter to the Chief Minister, A Revanth Reddy, asking him to investigate.
He wants the investigation to be fair, open, and quick.
He also wants new rules so this does not happen to farmers again.

The alleged diversion involves nearly 90,000 metric tonnes of government-procured paddy.
Paddy entrusted to rice mills for custom milling was reportedly neither found in stock nor returned as milled rice.
Rao sought accountability for responsible individuals and safeguards across procurement, transportation, storage, and milling.
