Congress opposes late-night boundary changes in Rajasthan
The Congress party in Rajasthan is upset because the state government changed the boundaries of Barmer and Balotra districts very late at night on December 31, 2025.
This change means that some areas, like Dhorimanna and Gudhamalani, are now part of Balotra instead of Barmer.
Congress leaders say this will make life harder for people because they will have to travel farther for important things like government offices and police stations.
They want the government to change the boundaries back, but it might be too late because the rules say boundaries can't be changed until after the 2027 census.
The changes also affect who represents these areas in the government.
Congress opposes the late-night redrawing of boundaries between Barmer and Balotra districts in Rajasthan.
Several areas, including Dhorimanna and Gudhamalani sub-divisions, have been shifted from Barmer to Balotra.
Congress leaders argue the changes will make governance more difficult and raise law-and-order concerns.
The deadline for fixing boundaries was December 31, 2025, making any reversal unlikely.
The restructuring alters the demographics of affected Lok Sabha and Assembly constituencies.
