India's PLI/DLI Schemes See Rs 2.5 Lakh Cr Capex by March 2026

Imagine the government wants to encourage companies to make more things in India, like phones or batteries.

They created special plans called PLI and DLI where they promise to give companies money back if they invest a lot and make a lot.

By early 2025, companies had already invested a lot of money, about Rs 1.8 lakh crore.

Experts think that by March 2026, they will have invested even more, reaching Rs 2.5 lakh crore.

This is most of the money the government expected them to invest.

However, the government has only paid out a small amount of the promised money, only 16%, because companies need to keep making more products to get the rest.

Some companies, like those making drones and phones, are doing really well.

Others, like those making solar panels and batteries, are a bit slower because of delays.

But overall, these plans have helped companies sell more and export a lot, and they've created many jobs.
