Delhi Abolishes Income Cap for Kashmiri Hindu Migrant Aid
The Delhi government has removed the income limit for Kashmiri Hindu migrants to receive monthly financial help.
This means around 1,800 migrants will now get Rs 3,250 each month, no matter how much money they earn.
Previously, there was a limit on their income to qualify.
The government stated that this aid is a right due to their displacement, and should be given on humanitarian grounds.
The Delhi government eliminated the income cap for Kashmiri Hindu migrants' monthly allowance.
Approximately 1,800 migrants in Delhi will now receive the allowance.
Each migrant will receive Rs 3,250 per month, irrespective of their income.
The annual financial assistance amounts to nearly Rs 39,000 per migrant.
The government considers the allowance an entitlement, not charity, given historical displacement.
