Workshop Trains Forest Staff in Marine Conservation Techniques
Imagine a training camp for forest workers to become experts in saving the ocean's special animals and plants.
This training camp is teaching them how to protect the coastlines and help sea turtles and dugongs, which are like underwater cows, stay safe.
The workers will learn about different parts of the ocean, how to fix damaged areas, and how to help animals in need.
They will visit places with mangroves, seagrass, and coral reefs, learning how to take care of them.
They will also learn how to use special tools like drones to map the areas.
They will even practice rescuing dugongs, working with the local fishermen.
The goal is to make sure our coasts and marine animals stay healthy for a long, long time.
A five-day workshop was held in Pudukottai to train forest department staff.
The workshop focuses on coastal ecosystem restoration and protecting marine species like dugongs and sea turtles.
31 Forest Range Officers and Foresters from Tamil Nadu participated.
Training includes classroom sessions, field trips, and hands-on activities.
