Farmers Seek Higher Compensation For Adilabad Airport Land

Farmers Seek Higher Compensation For Adilabad Airport Land

Officials met farmers in Kachkanti village about land needed for a proposed airport.

The project may acquire 29.19 acres from 32 farmers.

The farmers asked for Rs 6 crore for each acre taken.

Some farmers said the survey recorded less land than they own.

One farmer said his land was recorded as 1.14 acres instead of the larger extent he claimed.

The villagers also requested airport jobs for families that lose land.

They submitted objections about errors in the land records.

Officials said mistakes would be corrected and the compensation rate would be discussed at a collector’s meeting.
