ITC Shares Set to Close Lower in 2025
ITC is a big company that makes lots of different things, like cigarettes and snacks.
For the past five years, the price of ITC's shares (which are like tiny pieces of the company you can buy) has gone up every year.
But this year, 2025, the price is going down.
This is the first time in five years that this has happened.
The price has gone down because people who invest in ITC are worried about two things.
First, the government might make cigarettes more expensive by adding new taxes.
Second, a big company called British American Tobacco sold some of its shares in ITC's hotel business.
Even though the price is going down this year, over the past five years, the price has more than doubled.
That means if you had bought ITC shares five years ago, you would have more than twice as much money now.
Some experts think the price will go up again soon, but others think it might keep going down.
It's hard to say for sure what will happen next.
ITC shares are set to close lower in 2025 for the first time in five years, with a correction of 11.17% year-to-date.
The stock has been trading in a range between Rs 396.80 and Rs 421 for the last six months.
Investor concerns over potential higher taxes on tobacco under the new GST 2.0 regime and a significant stake sale by British American Tobacco (BAT) in ITC Hotels have affected the stock's performance.
Despite the recent correction, ITC shares have more than doubled in value over the past five years, delivering 106% returns.
Analysts have mixed outlooks, with some predicting a rebound and others suggesting caution due to short-term volatility.
