Soymeal demand rises from poultry sector
Soymeal producers in India are seeing more demand from the poultry feed industry.
This is good news because it means more people are buying soymeal.
However, there are worries about a cheaper alternative called DDGS.
The amount of soymeal used in the last three months was about the same as before, but a bit less than last year.
Soymeal is also being sent to other countries like France, Germany, and Bangladesh.
The total production of soybeans for this year is expected to be around 105.36 lakh tonnes.
Soymeal demand from poultry feed makers is improving, but concerns over DDGS usage persist.
Soymeal offtake in December 2025 was 5 lakh tonnes, unchanged from November 2025.
Soymeal offtake in October-December 2025 was 16 lakh tonnes, slightly lower than the previous year.
Soymeal exports during October-December 2025 were 5.07 lakh tonnes, with Europe and Bangladesh as major buyers.
SOPA estimates soybean production for 2025-26 at 105.36 lakh tonnes.
