Western Railway Reports High Food and Water Safety Compliance

Western Railway checked food and drinking water at stations, hospitals and railway campuses.

It tested almost 1,000 food samples and most of them passed safety checks.

It also tested thousands of water samples, and nearly all were found safe.

The checks included taps, water coolers, storage tanks and railway colony pipelines.

Some stations and campuses received special Eat Right certifications.

These certifications require checks on food handling, cleanliness, pest control and staff hygiene.

Railway officials said vendors that fail checks can be penalized and inspected again.

The goal is to keep passengers and railway workers healthier and safer.
