Andhra Pradesh Files Supreme Court Caveat Over YSRCP Poll Challenge

The Andhra Pradesh government has asked the Supreme Court to hear its side before making a decision about local elections.

The YSRCP party asked the Court to stop or delay the elections.

It is challenging an earlier High Court decision that allowed election preparations and ward boundary changes to go ahead.

YSRCP says the full ward boundary work should be finished first.

It also says preparations started before voter-list revision was completed and questions the use of January local-body data.

The party asked for an urgent hearing because it said an election schedule could be announced at any time.

The Supreme Court indicated it would examine the case carefully.

The articles do not report a final Supreme Court decision.
