Woman's Suicide: Blames Husband, In-Laws After Dowry Claims
Ridhanya, a young woman, took her life in India shortly after her wedding.
She told her father that her husband and in-laws were hurting her physically and mentally, and that her marriage was a failure.
Even though her parents gave the husband and his family gold and a car, they were still demanding more.
The police arrested her husband and his parents, and the family is looking for justice.
Ridhanya, 27, died by suicide in Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu, two and a half months after her marriage.
She alleged physical and mental torture from her husband Kavin Kumar and in-laws.
In a final audio message, Ridhanya blamed her husband and in-laws for her decision.
Dowry demands allegedly began approximately two weeks after the wedding, despite a substantial dowry.
Kavin Kumar and his parents were arrested by Tiruppur police.
