Mexican TikTok Influencer Cesar Gastelum Shot Dead During Livestream
A man named Cesar Gastelum made videos on TikTok, and more than 600,000 people followed him.
One day, while he was filming a live video in front of a fast-food restaurant, two people wearing helmets rode up to him on a motorcycle.
They hurt him very seriously, and he did not survive.
The police believe the people did this because he had posted things online about a dangerous criminal group.
This happened in a city called Culiacán, in the state of Sinaloa in Mexico.
Culiacán is a place where different criminal groups have been fighting each other for a long time.
Because of these fights, many people have died or gone missing.
This is not the first time an internet star has been hurt this way.
In May 2025, another video-maker named Valeria Marquez was also killed during a live video.
The police are still investigating what happened and why.
Cesar Gastelum, a Mexican TikTok influencer with more than 600,000 followers, was shot dead during a livestream in Culiacán, Mexico.
Mexican authorities believe the killing was retaliation for his social media posts referring to a criminal group.
Gastelum was approached by two helmeted people on a motorcycle while he and two friends were dressed as food delivery workers for a livestream challenge.
Culiacán, the capital of Sinaloa state, has been a battleground for warring drug factions, including the Sinaloa Cartel.
The killing follows other cases of influencers targeted by gangs, including Valeria Marquez, murdered during a livestream in Jalisco in May 2025.
