A trip that usually takes much less time lasted almost three hours.
The city’s weather office measured about 120mm of rain in Alipore.
This amount is called very heavy rain.
The rain was caused mainly by a weather pattern called a trough, helped by a low-pressure area.
More rain may come on Thursday, depending on whether the trough weakens or stays in place.
