Sikkim Hosts First Paragliding Championship

The first Rhenock Sikkim Paragliding Accuracy Championship 2026 was held in Sikkim.

The event was organized by the Rhenock Tourism Development Society (RTDS) and the Sikkim Tourism and Civil Aviation Department.

The Chief Minister of Sikkim, P.S. Tamang (Golay), inaugurated the event.

He talked about the importance of tourism and sports for the development of the region.

The championship had two categories: solo and team.

The event aimed to promote adventure tourism and create job opportunities for local people.

The Chief Minister also encouraged local communities to start homestays and eco-tourism initiatives.

The event ended with the distribution of trophies and certificates to the winners.
