Share Prices of Kalpataru, Others Fall After Lock-In Expiry
Imagine that when a company first sells its shares (like selling cookies), some early investors have to promise not to sell for a while.
This is called a lock-in period.
Once that period ends, they can sell.
Today, the lock-in periods ended for some companies' shares.
This meant more shares became available to buy and sell, increasing the supply.
Because there was more supply, the prices of those shares went down a bit.
It's like when more cookies are available; the price might drop a bit!
The biggest price drop was for Stallion India Fluorochemicals.
Shares of Kalpataru, Ellenbarrie, Globe Civil Projects, and Stallion India Fluorochemicals declined.
The share prices fell due to the expiration of the lock-in period for pre-IPO investors.
Stallion India Fluorochemicals saw the largest decline, dropping 8.21%.
Significant numbers of shares became eligible for trading after the lock-in expired.
The increased supply from unlocked shares put downward pressure on the market.
