Yathindra Siddaramaiah Appointed Leader of House in Karnataka Council

In the Indian state of Karnataka, leaders meet in a big building called Vidhana Soudha to discuss how to help people.

On Thursday, a new meeting session began there.

A leader named Yathindra Siddaramaiah was given a very important job called Leader of the House in one part of the meeting, the Legislative Council.

His job is to help lead the government's side during discussions.

This is the first time he has this job, and also his first time as a minister.

He told everyone he has limited experience and asked both his friends and his rivals in the meeting to help him.

Yathindra is the son of Siddaramaiah, who used to be the Chief Minister of Karnataka.

Members of his party, the Congress, showed they were happy by banging their desks.

During the meeting, everyone also remembered some leaders and famous singers who recently passed away.
