ICICI Lombard Index: 17% Indians Have Diabetes, Stress Epidemic Affects Millennials
Imagine a report card for how healthy people in India are, called the Wellness Index.
It shows that more people, about 17 out of every 100, now have sugar sickness, also known as diabetes.
This is happening a lot with younger adults, called millennials, who work long hours and don't always eat right or exercise.
Many people are also feeling super stressed and tired all the time.
Youngest adults, Gen Z, are struggling the most with their health, including feeling sad and worried.
However, older adults, Gen X, and women are doing better with exercise and taking care of themselves.
Even though many people say they eat healthy, they still eat too much sugar, salt, and fat.
The report also says that having health insurance and using fitness trackers helps people be healthier and manage their well-being better.
It's important to pay attention to these signs and make healthy choices.
The ICICI Lombard India Wellness Index 2025 indicates that 17% of Indians now have diabetes.
High daily stress affects one in three Indians, and 41% report constant tiredness, with millennials and corporate employees being particularly at risk.
Gen Z shows a decline across all wellness pillars, experiencing fatigue, anxiety, and financial stress.
Gen X and women are showing improvements in physical fitness, mental resilience, and overall health awareness.
Health insurance ownership and the use of fitness technology are positively correlated with better wellness scores.
