Amaravati NIELIT Campus to Coexist With Tirupati Centre
The government wants to open a new NIELIT campus in Amaravati.
It says this new campus will not move or shut the existing centre in Tirupati.
The two centres will have different jobs.
Tirupati will teach practical skills and work with industries.
Amaravati will study advanced areas such as quantum technology and artificial intelligence.
The Tirupati centre has already trained 4,308 people.
It began courses in November 2024 and was formally inaugurated on October 2, 2025.
MP M Gurumurthy agrees that Amaravati can have a second centre, but he wants Tirupati to receive deemed university status.
The Andhra Pradesh government said the proposed Amaravati NIELIT Quantum AI University will not replace or close the Tirupati centre.
Amaravati would become Andhra Pradesh’s second NIELIT centre, while NIELIT can establish up to three centres in a state.
