Haryana CID Inspector Arrested While Accepting Rs 5 Lakh Bribe
Officials in Haryana arrested a CID inspector named Rajesh Kumar.
They allege that he accepted Rs 5 lakh as a bribe.
The money was allegedly demanded from a transporter.
In return, vehicles carrying mining material could operate without obstruction.
The vehicles traveled between Yamunanagar and Karnal.
The complainant said the inspector first asked for money for each vehicle.
Investigators then arranged a trap at Umri Chowk in Kurukshetra.
The inspector was allegedly caught during the operation and will be presented in court.
The investigation is still continuing.

The alleged payment was linked to allowing mining-material vehicles to operate between Yamunanagar and Karnal without obstruction.
The complainant said Kumar initially demanded Rs 10,000 per vehicle per month.
The alleged agreement involved about Rs 7,000 per vehicle for around 70 vehicles, totaling Rs 5 lakh monthly.
The ACB laid a trap at Umri Chowk in Kurukshetra and registered a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
