Alam Duo Challenges Arms Seizure in Hyderabad High Court
A man named Mahbub Alam Khan is accused of being involved in the murder of a lawyer called Khaja Moizuddin.
The police took away nine guns that belonged to Mahbub, his son Mujahid, and their family.
The police also cancelled the family's gun licences.
The police say they are taking the guns as per the law.
Mahbub believes the police did something wrong.
He went to a high court, which is one of the biggest courts, to complain.
He asked the court to decide that the guns were taken illegally.
The family says the police broke the Arms Act, which is the law about weapons.
The guns are worth more than one crore rupees, which is a lot of money.
Now a judge will look at the case and decide what should happen.
Mahbub Alam Khan, a prime conspirator in advocate Khaja Moizuddin's murder, filed a writ petition against the seizure of his family's firearms.
The petition challenges Memo No. L&O/ARMS3/0173/2026, issued on July 3, which cancelled the family's arms licences.
Police seized nine imported firearms registered in the names of Mahbub Alam Khan, his son Mujahid Alam Khan and family members.
An arms dealer estimated the nine imported weapons to be worth over Rs 1 crore or more.
The petitioners allege the seizure is violative of the Arms Act and of constitutional provisions.
