Activist Flags Water Wastage in Sahar P&T Colony
An activist named Godfrey Pimenta wrote to the BMC Commissioner about a big problem in Sahar P&T Colony in Mumbai.
Workers from the BMC tapped the main water line without proper planning, causing a lot of drinking water to be wasted.
This water is just flowing out and not being used, which is a problem because some areas in Mumbai don't have enough water.
The activist asked the BMC to check the site and fix the issue quickly.
Many houses in the colony are flooded with this extra water, which is causing trouble for the people living there.
Activist Godfrey Pimenta highlighted heavy wastage of drinking water in Sahar P&T Colony due to ongoing repair/construction activities.
Unauthorized tapping of the main water line by BMC Hydraulic Engineering team is causing continuous loss of potable water.
Many houses and flats in the colony are inundated with overflow water, causing discomfort to residents.
Pimenta requested the BMC to take urgent action and inspect the site immediately to stop the uncontrolled discharge of potable water.
The issue is particularly concerning as many areas in Mumbai face water supply pressure.
