Carney Walks Back Davos Speech
Mark Carney, the Prime Minister of Canada, gave a speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
He talked about how the old rules that countries used to follow are ending, and now the powerful countries do what they want.
He mentioned a historian named Thucydides, who wrote about power and war a long time ago.
Carney said that middle-sized countries, like India, should work together to handle these changes.
He also talked about how countries might form new groups and alliances to deal with the powerful countries.
India has been friendly with many different countries and groups, but in the future, it might have to choose sides more clearly.
The speech was about how the world is changing and what countries can do to adapt.
After the speech, Carney had a call with U.S. President Donald Trump and walked back some of his comments.
Trump was not happy with the speech and revoked Canada's invitation to join a Board of Peace.
He also threatened to put a 100% tax on Canadian goods if Canada makes a trade deal with China.
