Heavy Rains Close UP Schools as Flooding Spreads

Heavy Rains Close UP Schools as Flooding Spreads

Heavy rain has caused water to collect in many parts of Lakhimpur Kheri.

Because of the waterlogging, schools there were closed.

Rivers near the Nepal border are also rising.

The Mohana and Karnali rivers begin in Nepal and flow toward nearby Indian villages.

Their rising water can affect communities in Kheri.

Some villages near Dudhwa National Park are also at risk.

In Varanasi, the Ganga has risen significantly.

This has created a situation that looks like flooding.
